Are the schools, or more precisely, teachers, responsible for the crisis in America?
WASHINGTON, DC – Author Joe David believes, when the next generation examines objectively the causes for today’s crisis in America, it will link the crisis to the schools, more specifically, teachers who have planted the seeds of ignorance and have harvested from them political correctness (PC). In his nationally acclaimed 1980s novel, The Fire Within, which has been currently reissued, David reveals the shocking truth about teachers. According to the former educator, too much respect and money have been given to teachers without first closely examining their motives and classroom activities. “I am convinced that many of America’s current problems have been nurtured in our schools,” David went on to say. “Too many educators out of ignorance or design have used their teaching position to advance socially destructive ideas and activities deemed politically correct by the establishment. Their reason: to crush rational thinking and encourage through intimidation a politically correct view for understanding contemporary concerns.” (The author defines PC as restricting certain language and behavior, disapproved by the political establishment, in order to eliminate dissent on sensitive political issues.) As a result of such action, David believes most schools, public and private, but primarily public, are undermining education by providing only information that the current political establishment deems appropriate. “When you realize that the political machine has proven itself to be deceitful and corrupt, it is easy to understand why PC has become so popular among left-wingers,” David said. “It is the perfect, brain-washing shield to use against aggressive scrutiny of sensitive political issues.” In his book, The Fire Within, the controversial author builds a strong case against tax-supported, government schools and exposes how such schools have become a threat to the intellectual and spiritual freedom of Americans. “By subordinating objective truth to political truth, teachers are boldly building a nation of non-thinking students brainwashed into submitting to the will of their leaders.” Because of the degenerating state of today’s education, the author has decided to re-issue his 1981 nationally acclaimed novel, The Fire Within (ISBN:978-0939360-04-8). In this hard-hitting, fast-paced book about “education,” David identifies the philosophical roots of the problem and places the blame for what is happening in America exactly where it belongs on dangerous, politically correct ideas, taught in the schools by teachers. Unlike most books on the subject, The Fire Within isn’t a traditional novel. It is instead a novel of ideas, in which two fundamental and opposing philosophies of education collide. The result is the modern classroom, a battleground, where lobotomy is performed daily on healthy and potentially brilliant young minds.
