It is often said that Islam is a religion of peace, and it respects and honors life. Yet, the message of words and actions of many Islamic leaders and terrorist groups in the name of Allah suggests otherwise. Although these vocal terrorists are only a small percentage of the Muslim population, they are an important voice. What troubles many thinking Westerners is only a few of the majority of peaceful Muslims are expressing disapproval and separating themselves publicly from its radical leaders and their savage activities.
Is their silence the silence of good people intimidated by the raging madness of murderers, or is their silence the silence of enemies that clandestinely support the elimination of infidels?
On September 19, 2014, Fox News reported that a few thousand Muslims gathered in Berlin to protest the crimes committed by militants in the name of Allah. This protest came after Germany learned that ISIS would soon begin spreading terrorism in Europe, specifically Germany. On September 12, 2014, Deutsche Welle television reported what the head of the Federation of German Police Officers, André Schulz, told the business news website, Handelsblatt Online: “In security circles, the talk is no longer of whether an attack will occur in Germany, but rather when.”
Similar threats of imminent terrorism have been reported in North America as well. These news-breaking threats should have been enough to encourage every concerned Muslim around the world to take a stand against ISIS and show solidarity with the West. What we got instead was silence. There are 1.6 billion Muslims around the world. Of this huge population, the only ones primarily making news are the Jihadists who represent theoretically a small percentage of the Muslim population.
If the majority of the peaceful Muslims spoke out, their combined voice would be deafening. Why hasn’t this happened? Are they sleeper cells waiting for the right moment to reveal themselves? Or are they frightened Muslims fearful of speaking out? Surely this can’t be true. Not all of the over billion Muslims can be intimidated by the militants. There must be enough peaceful ones, especially in the West, that are willing to speak out against the crimes of the terrorists. Why then are they silent?
Many of them don’t live in Islamic countries. They live almost everywhere and, enough of them, in countries like the U.S.A. where they can speak out without fear of death from disapproving Islamic groups. Why does it take a major threat against the West for only an insignificant number of good or former Muslims to speak out?
It is true, of course, many Muslims around the world live in packs outside the mainstream of their non-Muslim host country, where they are being taught to think by mullahs and taught to obey laws by the religious police. For many such Muslims, there is no such thing as free choice. Within these tight packs, they must obey Sharia Law or suffer the consequences (Sharia Law 5:33). Consequently, instead of blending into the mainstream of their newly adopted country, they are being brainwashed within their host country.
In America, for example, Muslims have succeeded at claiming positions of influence in States like Michigan and Minnesota; they are using these centers to extend their outreach to other areas, and shockingly on the city, state, and federal levels. These seized power centers are being used to spread Islamic theocracy to other areas of America. Although America has always been a wonderful mix (melting pot) of all types, many of those new Americans have come to America to become Americans and to dedicate their lives to achieving the American Dream. Tolerance for different religions has long been the rule within the country, providing these visiting religions showed respect to the laws of the country. Today this has reversed itself. We are sitting on a nuclear warhead that can annihilate us. Rebellious groups have come here to impose their laws on Americans. For now, they are clothed like sheep. Tomorrow, they may be armed for war.
Any honest and open discussion of this is being crushed by the media and the government. What we are hearing, when the story is too significant to hide, are half-truths. For example, many of the crimes by Muslim terrorists (when reported) have been reported as crimes committed by loners: The beheading of a woman at work in Oklahoma; the shooting of a soldier in Ottawa Canada; the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania; and the hatchet man in New York who attacked police officers. By treating these acts of violence routinely without digging deeper into the motives, the media (and the government) are attempting to conceal the encroachment of the enemy and the true spirit of its nature and its organization.
No one in authority seems to be willing to examine the possibility that these crimes might be connected to the 15 -20 percent of organized terrorists and accepted by the majority of the silent Muslims.
It would be reasonable to believe, if thinking Muslims were concerned about terrorist activities, large numbers of them would be protesting and even leaving their faith to demonstrate their support of the West. The fact that neither is occurring, especially in the West, where they are free to express themselves, allows one to conclude that they must be sympathetic to the Jihadist activities. If the West (specifically Europe) continues to ignore the magnitude of its growing problems, linked to the encroachment of religious insurgents, they may become a warzone like the Middle East. This could eventually wipe away Western civilization, as we know, if not checked, and bring about a theocracy ruled by fanatics and lunatics.
What has happened in Iran, Syria and Iraq in the name of Allah is beyond outrageous. It is war against everything decent and sensible that has led to the murder of millions of people by fanatics and lunatics determined to reduce great and ancient cultures to rubble.
It is time that those huge numbers of Muslims, who proclaim to be peaceful, step out of their cloisters and join the civilized world. Failure to do so will only identify them as one of the radicals.
